We traveled to Why AZ on Wednesday and are staying on more BLM land. Another short trip only 112 miles. There was no way to post while in Why, no service for our verizon air card.
We visited the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, with Charles and Nancy. Went on a 3 hour guided tour into the Ajo Mountain range to see and learn about different cactuses in the southwest. Our tour guides Walker and Dan, were very informative and really nice guys.
The picture above is of an Organ Pipe Cactus. They only grow in this one area in AZ., they do grow more in Mexico then the US.
There are 5 arches in Ajo Mountain Range, you will see 2 in this picture, a small one is just above the larger arch.
Now when we are taking our hikes in the desert we can identify the cacti. That makes it a little more fun on our walks.
