Carson City Nevada

We are in another casino parking lot, this one has no hook-ups.  I don’t know where Mike finds these wonderful places.  The temps have been very cool at night, no electric means no furnace, but Mike gets our wave heater out that runs on propane and does just fine for us.

Carson City being the capital of Nevada our first stop was the Capital Building, with it’s silver dome.

Do you believe this flower came from the stick on the right.  Of course I have no idea what it is but WOW.  It is still so cold here and yet everything is blooming.

I think the bush is dogwood and of course the flower is a crocus.

Carson City has many historical homes, one that we visited was the home of George Washington Gale Ferris Jr.  He was the man that designed the original Ferris wheel for the 1893 Chicago Worlds Columbian Exposition.   The homes are not open to the public and most now house businesses in town.

On our tour we visited the Nevada State Museum, which was once the Carson City Mint a branch of the US Mint.
