I have to break up the blogs so I don’t get to many pictures in one, the internet at the visitor centers are not always strong enough to post with lots of pictures.
When we landed in Juneau we boarded a bus for downtown, we were on our own for a couple of hours, lunch and a little sightseeing.
Our first stop was lunch at the Sea Port restaurant, we sat on the patio and watched the float planes land as we ate.
We did a little hill climbing just see what was on the other side. Thought this was a pretty interesting ceiling in the church we checked out.
The capital building. The bell out front is a Pass and Stow bell made by the same company the made the liberty bell.
A couple of the meeting rooms in the capital.
Mike likes to make new friends. Well what can I say I did not see the signs until after I took the picture.
Mostly Juneau is a tourist town with cruise ships docking everyday, and tons of what I call t-shirt shops and garage sale stuff, you buy a small souvenir and sell it the next year at a garage sale.
The bus picked us up downtown and drove us 13 miles to the Mendenhall Glacier. I’m not sure how many glaciers are in Alaska but we visited a good portion of them on this trip.
After the glacier the bus dropped us off at the boat and it was another wildlife adventure back to Skagway.
